My beermate Kipyegon had had enough for one night and so decided to relocate to his house from our ka-local ‘club gatheremende’. He stepped outside and was shocked to find the late night darkness at its peak. He hung around the entrance until he spotted someone coming down the road and heading in the direction that Kipyegon wanted to go. Kipyegon let the man pass first and started following him at a distance of around 100metres, as he believed that there was safety in walking closely behind someone at such a late and dark hour. Soon after that, another drunk emerged from the pub and started following Kipyegon from a distance with the same safety feature in mind. The guy at the front looked back and realized there was someone following him and got alarmed. He started walking faster to try and beat the stranger behind him. Kipyegon realized the guy infront had started hastening his pace, so he also started walking faster to try and keep up. The drunk at the back also realized that Kipyegon had started walking faster so he also did the same. The guy at the front looked back again and realized the person following him had also started walking faster, and so he got even more alarmed and started running. Kipyegon noticed the guy infront had started running and since he wanted to keep up with him for security reasons. The drunk at the back realized that Kipyegon had started running and concluded that he must have seen something strange ahead, so he also started running. The guy at the front was now convinced he was being followed by a mugger and ran as fast as he could screaming and wailing. Kipyegon heard the man screaming and wailing and knew that he must have seen some robbers ahead so he also ran faster while screaming and wailing. to catch up with the man to help him. The drunk at the back heard the commotion at the front and also started running as fast as he could while screaming.
This whole scenario was witnessed by a night guard who saw 3 grown men running after each other while making girly noises. It always makes a good laugh whenever we remember the happenings of that day.
