‘Nairobi Diaries’ actress Diana Clara Ojenge, alias Mishi Dorah, was on Friday arraigned in court for allegedly failing to pay a bar bill amounting to over Sh150,000.

Diana appeared before Kibera law courts principal magistrate Monicah Maroro where she was charged with obtaining Sh152,550 credit by false pretenses after consuming expensive alcohol and food at a city restaurant.

The court heard that the accused incurred the huge bill at Golden Ice Bistro located at Nextgen Mall along Mombasa Road in Nairobi on the night of May 26th and the morning of May 27th.

Nation reported that she ordered six bottles of premium Belaire Luxe 750ml worth Sh75,000, seven Hennessy VS 750ml bottles (Sh70,000), two chicken breasts (Sh3,000), a cocktail drink (Sh2,000), a litre of bottled water (Sh400), three Redbull energy drinks (Sh1,650), and two bottles of 300ml coke (Sh500).

When she was asked to clear the bill, Diana, who was in the company of a group of friends she was partying with, claimed that her bank card had a problem and she was unable to pay. She requested to be escorted to her house to collect some cash but it emerged she did not have any.

The accused then pleaded with the restaurant’s management to give her two days to clear the bill but she stopped picking up phone calls from the management and did not pay the dept. She was arrested after the restaurant filed a report at Akila police station.

Diana pleaded not guilty to the charges and was released on a cash bail of Sh50,000 and an alternative bond of Sh100,000 with a surety of a similar amount. The case will be mentioned on June 16th.
