It's important to always text people with a purpose and avoid coming off as an idler or a bug. We can't be 'hey heying' everyday. When you write a person you're asking for their attention and their time, and you should at least show you have a reason you want to engage them. It's not only courtesy but also practical wisdom. First impressions count and if you're hoping to connect with or persuade a person you should at least think ahead and not just contact them impulsively. You can irritate and put off people when you constantly pester them with 'hi' yet it's clear they're not interested.

And for brothers, nagging is a put off. If you attempt to connect using the cheapest and laziest method, inboxing a greeting online, and she doesn't respond, become creative and try other approaches. Research about her and send more thought out complements, for instance. Or ask how you may send some lunch. Generosity is often a good ice breaker. Anything that will get you talking so that you can remove the impasse and make a decision about her, whether to start something or move on.

Time is money so if we just save it and go straight on point during a convo,, instead of beating around the bush as the English literates say hit the nail on the head and straight forward.
