As we draw ourselves close to Christmas and the new year holidays, December has been a month known for various ceremonies. Among them, was the end of year celebration of Athanas Mbele Foundation, (A.M.F) that happened to draw the attention of many.

Ambassador Janet Mwawasi oben was the Chief Guest, along side Fast women representative Taita-Taveta County, Hon Joyce Lay among other leaders.

The foundation highlighted the score card of the year 2023 achieved within a span of 1 year. With the foundation program being headed by the C.E.O Kefa Maseghe, below are the projects that touched the lives of the residents populated across Taita-Taveta County.

1. Tents and Chairs.
The foundation managed to assist 57 families with the tents and Chairs in a period of 1 year. According to the Chief Executive Officer Kefa Maseghe, the total savings of the tents and Chairs if hired was approximately Kshs1.4 million.

2. Wundanyi Mghange Road Murraming.
The Foundation rose into limelight by covering 7 kilometers of the Wundanyi Mghange Road with murram to make the road passable during heavy rains and make it easier for people to continue with their businesses.

3. Kipepeo Program.
This is a program that was aimed to distribute sanitary pads to schools with in Taita-Taveta County, where the foundation managed to reach 8047 students. On the same the foundation is planning to introduce a sanitary pad machine where the needy students will be registered using their finger prints and make it easier for them to get the pads anytime they need.

4.Taa Mtaani.
The foundation has successfully installed powerful security lights each 300 watts in areas like Wesu, Kishushe, Mghange and Kese mainly to cub the issue of insecurity and also to enable the businesses to continue even after 6pm. With the program still in progress, the foundation is planning to install 60 security lights next year down to sublocation levels.

5. Issuance of Bursaries.
The foundation was able to provide 16 underprivileged students with Bursaries, with the highest student receiving Kshs15400 while the lowest received Kshs5,040. All 4 wards within Wundanyi constituency were represented as stated by the C.E.O.

6. Mradi wa Jeki.
The program is scheduled to start as from next year where Farmers will have the opportunity to get good dairy breed semens at an affordable price.
With so much to witness from the Founder Athanus Mbele, a committed young man we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
