  • Groom yourself. Dress clean and neat. Understand what suits your body and dress accordingly.​

  • Smile, even now. Trick your brain into thinking that you're happy by smiling often.​
  • Instead of asking “why did this happen?”, ask “what can I do now?”​
  • Whenever you're feeling down, take a few slow and deep breaths, and ponder, “Who is observing these thoughts and feelings?”​
  • Jot down a list of things you like about yourself.​
  • Have (good) role models. Think about what qualities you admire in people, and start incorporating them in your life, one step at a time.​
  • Meditate. The simplest way is to start focusing on your breath. And if nothing works, send good vibes to someone you like. Imagine them being happy, and the mind shifts.​
  • Learn to say No to people. Always understand, you cannot please everyone in life. If it becomes your life's goal to please everyone you'll end up pleasing none at all. So saying No at times when necessary actually lifts your image, both in your mind and in others'.​

  • Be punctual, no matter what the event is.​
  • Have goals, whatever they may be. Start working towards something, maybe saving some money for this trip you've always wanted to go on.​
