Statement on Recent Remarks by Chebukati on Alleged Disqualification Of Governor Mike Sonko

The IEBC Chair has issued a statement declaring "disqualification" of Mike Sonko, Karungo wa Thang'wa and Mkala on grounds that they were impeached from office. Mike Sonko's case is unique.
Mike Sonko challenged his impeachment and has his case coming up on 10th June at the Supreme Court. It is worth noting that one of judges who heard the matter at the high court has been suspended by JSC awaiting recommendations of a tribunal that was set up to investigate him.
Several petitions have been filed in Mombasa and one in Eldoret seeking constitutional interpretation on legibility of Mike Sonko to vie, since then the cases have been consolidated and the CJ Martha Koome has formed a 3 judge bench led by a reputable constitutional judge Justice David Majanja to preside over the case that is coming on 6th June for hearing.
We therefore find it very reckless and in bad taste for a lawyer of Chebukati's standing to give spiteful political comments on a matter that is before the courts.
Kenya is a country of constitutionalism and RULE OF LAW.
We urge our supporters not to be distracted as our battery of lawyers are working round the clock to see that JUSTICE to the PEOPLE OF MOMBASA is served.

It's very interesting how they are curbing sonko and he's keeping the fight strong. He has now declared that he won't be threatened or looked down upon by some petty officials and that he's after the seat to rescue Mombasa. I just like the dram a the guy is putting 😂😂👏 keep it up Mbuvi
